Community
Community means everything to us both in philosophy of business and of life!
Hello Fall 2016! Time sure has flown! In 2016 NiK Kacy Footwear had the opportunity to participate in a series of amazing fashion shows (which you can check out more on our blog page.) We even went international at Toronto Fashion Week for SuperButch in May! Thanks to amazing organizers like Dinah Thorpe, Heather Blom, Jack Jackson and many others, we got to show off our collection on a Canadian runway! Here are some pics with some of our favorite designers Kirrin Finch's Kelly and Laura Moffat and Thuy Nguyen of Thuy Custom Clothier. Our Fortune collection in a circle worn by our models, some on stage photos and finally all our models getting pumped for the runway! Then we jetsetted across to NY for Rainbow Fashion Week in June, thanks to the invite of Jag and Co founder, Jaguar Beckford. We had an amazing time in our home town and it was fantastic to have our founder, NiK Kacy's mom on the runway strutting her stuff in a pair of blue monkstraps!
In September, we had the honor of being part of DapperQ's iD Queer Style Fashion Show, kicking off NY Fashion Week, co-presenting with Sharpe Suiting our custom designs and giving the audience a taste of NiK Kacy's next collection, Destiny, a series of formal shoes, boots, and high heels. Here's a photo of our friend/model, Mike Bazer who flew in all the way from Chile once again to walk for us. (We <3 Mike!) Here is most of our crew of models, tailors, friends with Leon of Sharpe Suiting and NiK Kacy post show. Can you tell we were super high of the energy of the night? (Our models for the night: Marcia Alvarado, Tiq Milan, Landon Cider, Mike Bazer, Kiralee Hiyashi, Jolaina Peltier, Aviya Eschenazi, Sannie Pedersen). Now we are prepping to drive up from LA to Oakland to share the stage with our Queer Fashion Week brothers and sisters! We are super excited to rock out the rest of 2016 with such a big bang - a FOUR DAY long Conference and Fashion Show! We'll be displaying at our booth during "Queer Fashion Mall" during those four days at Oakland Venue so be sure to come check us out and get fitted for your favorite pair of NiK Kacy shoes! And don't forget to come back and visit us here for more updates!

A Fellowship by Sharpe Suiting and NiK KacyIn 2015, Leon Wu of SharpeSuiting and NiK Kacy were so inspired by the bravery of Louisiana high school student, Claudetteia Love, that not only did we provide her dream prom outfit but we decided to honor her courage by creating a grant in her name for other high school students who want to walk their own way to their prom. Monk Boots in Vegas WeddingSo excited to see my first client wearing her new Navy/Grey Monk Boots to her Viva Las Vegas wedding on September 11th. Mindy and Megan got married in front of Elvis and came in on a sexy pink caddy. I couldn't have imagined a better or more stylish way to be the first to wear my monk boots. Thanks Mindy for being not only passionate about my shoes but also being a new found (and most likely life-long friend)! Thank you for inviting me to your wedding and welcoming me into your circle of amazing friends and family! xo |
